Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop time!! This week's question:

"What book influenced or changed your life? How did it influence/change you?"

If You know me, the answer is predictable. Harry Potter. Not just cuz they are the best children's books EVER, but because the series truly did change my life. When I read the books, I basically made almost everyone in my family read them. Harry Potter brought out my dad's love of books. Before I made my dad read the books, my dad HATED reading. Now, he reads about a book a week. I love that now we have something in common like the same love for books. It also made for great conversation at the dinner table. It still does ;)
Also, Harry Potter was and still is my 'go to book' whenever I'm sad or anxious or anything like that. It never failed, well, fails, to improve my mood and make me feel better.

  1. Harry Potter is such a wonderful series isn't it? My father-in-law bought the first few books for my daughter one Christmas and the rest was history. I think it's the one book series our entire family has read together! And of course we always line right up for the movies too! I love seeing someone's imagination just light up with all the possibilites this book series can bring! Hope your having a great weekeend!

  3. Hello from the Blog Hop! It's great that books like the Harry Potter series have got people reading who wouldn't otherwise have opened a book. My "go to book" is Anne of Green Gables. I must have read it for the first time when I was about 7 or 8 and fell in love with it. Anne reminded me so much of myself, and I think the books helped to shape who I am today.

  4. This will probably come of something as a surprise but the book that changed/influenced my life (more than any other) is a non-fiction book. I know we all focus on novels and the fanciful fiction we love to read but The Four Work Week is the book that gets all the credit. I know the title sounds fictional but it really isn’t. Hop over to my blog and find out why – http://www.howardsherman.net

    Happy Book Blogger Hop Day!

  5. Just hopping by and thought I'd say hi! I think Harry Potter can be credited for getting A LOT of kids into reading. Unfortunately, I'm ashamed to say that I fought reading them for a really long time because they became so popular. But I finally started right before the last one came out and I've been re-reading them over and over ever since!

HP is one of my choices too. I re-read the series every year. It never gets old and always makes me think, laugh, and cry.
    Happy weekend!

  8. Great choice! I think Harry Potter got a lot of people reading, which is very cool. I used to see adults on my train completely immersed in their Harry Potter book and it would make me smile.

    Happy Hopping!
