Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Title: Mockingjay
Author: Suzanne Collins
Series? Yes
Aquired From: Kindle
Summary: The final book of the critically acclaimed Hunger Games Trilogy. It's finally time for Katniss to choose between her best friend Gale and her new friend and love, Peeta. The Capital has taken over and Katniss is finally the official Mockingjay. Who will live? Who will she choose?
Review: Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. But then again, when does any book you've been waiting almost a year for? The story line was depressing and there was so much loss and death. The epilogue, which you think would add a little bit of happiness, just added more mystery and disappointment.
Cover Rating: 3/5
Comments on the Cover: Worked well with the covers for the Hunger Games and Catching Fire.
Character Comments: Peeta, who I loved in the other books, became plain annoying and I could barely stand any of them. Too much angst. Although, I did like how they developed through the trilogy.
Favorite Character: Peeta will always have a special place in my heart.
Character Rating: 3/5
Plot line rating: 2/5
Likeliness to reread it? 4/5
Overall rating: 3/5

Prada and Prejudice by Mandy Hubbard

Title: Prada and Prejudice

Author: Mandy Hubbard
Series? No
Aquired From: School Library
Summary: Callie is on a school trip to London. She wants to fit in with the rest of the girls on the trip, so she decides to buy a pair of red, Prada pumps. When she's walking in her new fabulous shoes, she trips and falls, hitting her head. When she wakes up, she wakes up where she fell. Except a couple hundred years before now. She meets Emily, who mistakes her for Rebecca, her American friend. Callie plays the part of Rebecca, going to regal balls, and maybe falling in love with Emily's cousin, an arrogant duke named Alex.
Review: I'm a Jane Austen fanatic. I love Bride and Prejudice. I was really excited when I saw this. I've been meaning to read it for a while. It didn't disappoint. Callie reminded me of myself, an extreme klutz (Except, on heels, I'm really graceful. Whodda thunk?). And Alex... Don't get me started on Alex. He's basically Mr. Darcy. And who doesn't love Mr. Darcy?
Cover Rating: 4/5
Comments on the Cover: Cute and fun. Modern with a tad of regency thrown in with the tea cup.
Character Comments: The characters were all so great and lovable.
Favorite Character: Alex and Callie
Character Rating: 4/5
Plot line rating: 5/5
Likeliness to reread it? 5/5
Overall rating: 4.5/5

Oh. My. Goodness.

For those who don't know, I turned seventeen in August. I usually have to birthday party. A "friend" birthday party and a "family" party. I deccided to wait till Spring to have my "friend" party to have an Alice in Wonderland Unbirthday Tea Party. My family party was FINALLY yesterday.

My cousins are amazing. Guess what they got me?

An Amazon Kindle.

A FREAKING AMAZON KINDLE!!!!!!!!

I was screaming, because Mike, my cousin and main source of book recommendations, had also bought me MOCKINGJAY and it was on my beauteous kindle!! I'm SO excited!! He also put a buncha free books on including all the Jane Austen books, a good amount of Shakespeare, Alice in Wonderland, the Wizard of Oz, and much more. I, of course, also downloaded a bunch more free books, including Edgar Allen Poe's complete works.

The Kindle is amazing. I can highlight passages, which I LOVE. I can't do this in regular books, just because I feel it is almost blasphemous to write in/highlight an actual book.

I am soo excited! SQUEE! I'll have to start saving my money so I can start getting more books!

Since Mike creeps on my blog alot,

THANKS MIKE!!
